A fake Twitter account.
Berry should be lucky, however, because @notwendellberry has no malicious or satirical intent. The account’s biography states clearly:
I am not Wendell Berry, simply a great admirer of his. I will post quotes by and about him, links to articles and other media, etc. Thanks for reading!
And that is exactly what it does. The Twitter is relatively new, with its first tweet on Dec. 29, 2011, reading: “”Just as a good man would not coerce the love of his wife, God does not coerce the love of His human creatures.”
In addition to quotes, the account links to articles written about Berry by his peers, like Erik Reece, a writer-in-residence at the University of
Kentucky who has written two nonfiction books. It also links to interviews and videos relating to Berry and his life.
Berry is a living literary legend in Kentucky, and won the National Humanities Medal in 2011, awarded by President Barack Obama.
