At 10 a.m. on Tuesday UK prospect Karl Towns, a player Coach Calipari coached this past summer with the Dominican Republic National Team, announced two major decisions to the crowd and the cameras.

Towns announced that he would play college basketball at UK and that he was reclassifying from the class of 2015 to 2014. This is the first commit to UK and Coach Calipari for 2014, but will likely not be the last.

Towns announcement comes a few weeks after the class of 2013 signed their letters of intent, making the No. 1 recruiting class for UK for the fourth time over the past five years, with the current class of players as the No. 2 ranked class in the country.

Calipari has at least seven scholarship offers out to others in the 2014 class.
