Privacy Overrated…or is it Extinct?

With the recent creation known as@UKMakeouts, it raises the question: is privacy overrated…or dead? Parodies have been popping up all over both Twitter and Facebook, many with incriminating photos of the crazy acts people do.

@UKMakeouts is not the only popular Twitter handle that has spread like wildfire. Other popular handles at the University of Kentucky alone include:

  • @DrunkCoachCal
  • @BBNProblems_
  • @DrunkMarkStoops
  • @Kate_on_State

And who posts these pictures is the last thing on peoples’ mind…

Ranging in only 253 followers to 7,748, one thing is for certain: these parodies are the hottest thing in the Big Blue Nation.

Leading in popularity is @DrunkCoachCal with 7,748 followers but the newest addition @UKMakeouts is making a race for the new leader. The newest parody was created just last night, right in the thick of dead week.

It only took 125 tweets for this Twitter to become the hot conversation topic all over UK’s Campus. Makeouts has their email address up and running waiting for more photos to be sent their way.

So is privacy dead? Apparently so. The people featured in these “incriminating” photos are either enjoying their “new found fame” or have yet to say anything, or so it seems…Time will only tell if this trend of humiliation and parodies is here to stay or if it is just another trend that will die in time.
