Whitney Billings and Anni Thomasson received SEC honors this week. Billings, a senior right side hitter, was named SEC Player of the week while Thomasson was named Co-Freshman of the Week.

The first of her career, Thomasson’s  title follows a double-double in the win over school rival, Louisville, and a double-double over No. 4, Minnesota. In the victory over the Golden Gophers, Thomasson tallied her fourth double-double in the last five matches. She is averaging 2.08 kills and 3.08 digs per set.

Billings notched her second SEC Player of the Week after 11 digs over Louisville and becoming the sixth player in UK volleyball history to have 1,000 kills and digs. Billings offensive efforts of 25 kills put the Wildcats on top of the Gophers and helped lead them to victory. Billings had a season high five blocks and committed no errors.
