“The Sixth Man,” a new documentary about the fervent fandom of Big Blue Nation, will premieres at The Kentucky Theater on Thursday with two screenings at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Slated as a “Big Blue Carpet Event,” tickets are now available for purchase in advance at the theater and the Wildcat Den at Kennedy’s Book Store. Tickets cost $8, but UK students and faculty with valid ID can see the 11 p.m showing for $5. Tickets cannot be purchased online.
“This film captures the essence of what compels people from every walk of life to embrace a tradition that binds Wildcat fans from around the globe,” the film’s website says. “It’s about heritage and legacy, it requires dedication and loyalty, and when you see it, it’s unmistakable.”
The film was directed by Jason Epperson and features interviews with actors Josh Hopkins, Laura Bell Bundy, Josh Hutcherson and Steve Zahn, former Backstreet Boys Brian Littrell and Kevin Scott Richardson, and sports personalities Jay Bilas and Rece Davis.
