UK Women’s Soccer Defeats LSU

No. 25 UK Women’s soccer came out with the win on Sunday afternoon with a 3-1 victory over LSU.  The team scored three unanswered goals in the 64th, 72nd and 74th minutes of the game, after LSU scored first in the 51st minute. UK head coach, Jon Lipsitz spoke about the pressure the team has been feeling lately. “We talk a lot here about wanting pressure.  You want pressure. Let me tell you, if you lose all your games, you don’t have any pressure. We’re in a situation now where we’re fighting for an NCAA bid and a place in the SEC Tournament. There is pressure on us. That’s what we want. We want players that love that, and we all know nobody loves that moment more than Arin Gilliland. She’s our leader on the field.”  With the victory, the cats clinch a first-round bye in the 2013 SEC Tournament and will play again Wednesday afternoon.
