Randle is averaging 22.5 points and 15.0 rebounds after his first two games at Kentucky. His performances rank among the best two-game starts in the illustrious history of the Kentucky program. And he’s just getting started.
After blowout victories over UNC-Asheville and Northern Kentucky, the 6-foot-9 forward was named College basketball player of the week this morning by CBS and later named SEC player of the week this afternoon.
Randle led the way for the Wildcats, scoring 45 points and pulling in 30 rebounds combined in the first two games. It will be more impressive to see him post those type of numbers against a formidable foe. Against UNC Asheville and Northern Kentucky Randle looked like a bully exercising his will on snot nosed grade schoolers, robbing them of their dignity along with their lunch money.
What will he do against someone his own size?
We will find out the answer to that question on Tuesday night when Kentucky travels to Chicago to take on No. 2 Michigan State in the Champions Classic.
