Bob Knight Returns to Lexington in Different Role

Legendary head coach Bob Knight, who currently is the second-winningest head coach in Division I men’s basketball history, will be making a return to Rupp Arena on Thursday night. Knight, who was a longtime head coach at the University of Indiana will be the color commentator for ESPN’s broadcast of Kentucky’s game with Arkansas at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Knight has been critical of the NCAA’s one-and-done rule which allows players to enter the NBA Draft after just one year of NCAA action. Specifically, Knight has been critical of UK head coach John Calipari with the former UMass and Memphis head coach putting the two schools on probation prior to his arrival in Lexington. Knight and Calipari have shared a few jabs in the media the last few years, but all will be set aside on Thursday.

Knight will call the game with ESPN’s College GameDay host, Rece Davis, at 7 p.m. ET live from Rupp Arena as part of ESPN’s Bracket Builder Week.
