Party Gras Brings Cajun Culture to Campus During Mardi Gras

Stuck in Lexington but still looking for a place to celebrate Mardi Gras? Then you’re in luck because ‘Party Gras’ is taking place today on UK’s campus. Party Gras is an event celebrating Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday starting at 6 p.m. today in the Student Center Ballroom.  The event will have music from Dwayne Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers, Cajun food and masks.

“Party Gras is a fantastic way to experience Cajun culture, especially with the Zydeco band and Cajun food,” SAB director of concerts Adam Carrico said in a UKNOW report. “The event will also bring fun and entertainment during the busy midterm season.”

The UK Student Activities Board Concert Committee is sponsoring the event which is free and open to the public.

SAB is known for bringing programs to UK’s campus to enhance the college experience for students, staff and the Lexington community.
