Lexington Hoping To Get Back On World Equestrian Stage

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The city of Lexington, which hosted the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games, is hoping to get the bid again to host the world’s biggest equestrian event.

The Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in July, as a hope of showing the equestrian world that it is willing and capable of hosting the World Equestrian Games for a second time in the next few years.

There are over 80 riders that are confirmed as entries into this weekend’s Three-Day Event at the Kentucky Horse Park. Many former Olympians, world champions and past World Equestrian Games champions are in the field for the weekends’ festivities.

According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, there will be a new event in the competition this season, the team event, where different riders will represent their own countries. Image
