Houndmouth, an alternative country band, will be performing at the Kentucky Theatre tonight at eight o’clock to end Kentucky Week with a bang. The band hails from New Albany, Indiana, which is just across the Ohio River from Louisville.
The band started in 2011 when they began playing playing local shows in Indiana and Louisville. After playing in the SXSW Music Festival in 2012, they were signed by Rough Trade, which is an independent record label in London, England. The following year they released their debut album, The Hills Below the City. After The Hills Below the City released, Houndmouth took off. Their debut album led to appearances on Letterman, and Conan, along with performances at music festivals like Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza.
Tickets for the show are available to UK students in the Student Involvement Center, which is located in the Student Center, for $5, and to the general public for $15. Tickets can also be purchased on http://www.showclix.com for $15. Doors open at 7, and the show starts at eight.
