It has been four years since UK football won six games and made it to a bowl.
On Saturday, the Cats have a chance to end that drought and become bowl eligible for the first time since 2010.
“(Missouri is) sitting here 6‑2, and they probably feel like us,” UK head coach Mark Stoops said in his Monday press conference, according to UK Athletics. “They have not played their best yet. You know they’re a very good team. They’ve won, they’ve been there before, they’re an experienced group, especially as a coaching staff.”
Missouri is on a two-game win streak after beating Vanderbilt and Florida in their previous two games. The Tigers were blown out by Georgia at home on Oct. 11, 34-0.
Stoops said he doesn’t want to think about getting win number six just yet, per UK Athletics.
“I think it’s too soon to talk about that, I don’t think that’s the reason why we need to go get No. 6, even though we know the value in it,” Stoops said. “I think the reason we need to get number six is because we’re sitting on five.”
