On Saturday, Oct. 11, there was talk of the University of Kentucky beating LSU on Oct. 18 and hosting College GameDay on Oct. 25 against No. 1 Mississippi State. The Cats were 5-1 and one win away from their first bowl game since the days of Randall Cobb.
One month later, those same Cats are 5-5. UK has two games left – at Tennessee and at Louisville.
“We’ve got to get that attitude right and have the a great week and put everything we can into this week and then we get the bye to heal up a little bit and get a little extra preparation time (before the Louisville game),” Stoops said, according to UK Athletics.
Stoops’ team has already won more games than the last two seasons combined, but this year, there may be some disappointment with not making a bowl.
“You know I’m quite disappointed whenever we lose, no matter who we are playing and that’s the situation it is,” Stoops said. “That’s the mentality our team has to have as well. They’re not perfect but we’re going to give it everything we have this week.”
